Enchong Dee Posts Bail After Surrendering For Cyber Libel Charge
Here is the latest update on the cyber libel case against Enchong Dee
Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee posted bail after he surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) due to the cyber libel case filed by DUMPER Representative Claudine Bautista-Lim.
A few days ago, reports surfaced that a warrant of arrest was issued against the actor, however, it was said that he wasn’t at home when authorities went there. With this, speculations surfaced that he is hiding.
Based on the recent article in PEP, it was said that the actor voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Monday afternoon, January 31. On that night, he posted bail and because of this, he was not detained.
Tuesday, February 1 is a holiday (Chinese New Year). If he wasn’t able to post bail, it was more likely that he will spend the night in detainment.
To recall, Enchong Dee’s tweet against Rep. Claudine Bautista-Lim was the reason why the cyber libel case was filed. “The money for commuters and drivers went to her wedding. Let’s not prolong this conversation and don’t say otherwise,” the actor tweeted and later on, deleted his post.
Following that, Enchong apologized but this did not stop the party-list representative to file a case against him and celebrities Agot Isidro, Pokwang, and Ogie Diaz. The court decided to dismiss the complaint against the three celebrities but the one filed against Enchong progressed.
Amid this issue, since the time news surfaced about the P1 billion cyber libel complaint against him, the actor has maintained his silence. As of this writing, Star Magic, the talent management firm of ABS-CBN, the one handling the showbiz career of Enchong Dee has not released a statement yet regarding this matter.
