Neri Naig gives advice, tips on losing weight post-pregnancy

Mompreneur Neri Naig-Miranda right now weighs 61 kilos. That’s just 6 kilos shy of her ideal weight of 55 kilos.

Naig talked about her weight loss journey on her Instagram page yesterday, Jan. 22, where she shared a photo of herself and her husband Chito Miranda while walking, along with a throwback photo where she was at her heaviest.

“Walking kasama ng asawa ko para kahit papaano [makapag-exercise],” she said. (Walking with my husband so I could somehow exercise.)

“Naging [73 kilos] ako last October. Last month, 69 kilos ako. Swipe left para makita kung gaano talaga ako kalaki. Dahil no carbs at sweets ako muna to achieve my goal (55 kilos 5’6″ height ko ), 61 kilos ako now,” she added.

Naig then spoke about discipline for losing weight and moderation when exercising.

“Kase 2 weeks ago, nagtry akong mag exercise, more on stretching tapos may planking, ayun, dinugo ako kaya sa lahat ng mga bagong panganak, wag biglain lalo na kapag CS. Natakot ako but I am ok. Wag madaliin,” she said.

(Because two weeks ago, I tried to exercise, more on stretching then plankin, I bled. So to all those who just gave birth, don’t force losing weight, especially if you had cesarean section. I got scared [about the bleeding] but I am okay. Don’t rush.)

For now, Naig is content with just walking around their village, once in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Naig joked that her buddy, her husband, wants to go around the subdivision. It’s okay for her as long as she is on Spotify with music from the 1990s and early 2000s.

“Kung tatanungin nyo ako kung mahirap ba yung no carbs at sweets, aba oo! Hahaha! Pero kung desidido kang bumalik ang dati mong timbang, magtiis ka! Idaan na lang sa tubig at prutas,” she added.

(If you would ask me if no carbs and no sweets is really hard, I’d say yes… But if you are bent on returning to your original weight, you must persevere. You can have lots of water and fruits instead.)
