Romania out, Latvia in on Philippines’ COVID-19 ‘red’ list

MANILA, Philippines — Travelers from Latvia are barred from entering the Philippines until November 15 after it was added to the country’s “red list”.
Based on the latest list of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) effective November 1 to 15, 2021, Romania was removed while Latvia was added to the country’s “red list.”

Latvia is currently the sole country in the “red list.”
The Philippine government also updated its list of countries included in the green and yellow list.

Cayman Islands, the Republic of Congo, and Gibraltar were removed from the green list and now belongs in the yellow list.

Under the IATF guidelines, fully vaccinated travelers from “green countries” must only present a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to their departure from the country of origin.
Foreign nationals from green list countries are no longer required to undergo facility-based quarantine but are encouraged to self-monitor for any symptoms until the 14th day from their arrival.
Fully vaccinated overseas Filipino workers or returning Filipinos can choose to undergo facility-based quarantine until the release of a negative RT-PCR test taken upon their arrival, or present a negative swab test taken within 72 hours prior to their departure and no longer undergo facility-based quarantine and only self-monitor for symptoms.
