Arjo has already proven his caliber when it comes to acting and he is set to prove his ability to serve as he joins the political arena. In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, the mother of Arjo, admitted that at first, she was apprehensive about the decision of her son.

Sylvia said that if she is the one who will decide, she does not want her son to be in politics. She also revealed that even back in the time that Arjo Atayde was just in high school, he already mentioned to her that he wants

to be in public service

.

“Ayoko pero gaya nga ng sabi ko, anak ko ‘yan eh. Wala akong magawa kung ‘di suportahan na lang ang anak ko,”

the veteran actress shared.

Sylvia revealed that the shutting down of their home network triggered her son to run.

“Yes, because of ABS. Isa ‘yan sa reasons. Okay na, nanahimik na s’ya nu’n. Hanggang nang magsara ang ABS. D’un talaga. ‘Yun ang pinakatalaga, du’n s’ya nalungkot, nagalit, nalungkot s’ya sa lahat ng Kapamilya. Sa mga kaibigan sa loob, mga pamilya, lahat lahat, natanggalan ng trabaho tapos pandemic pa. ‘Yun talaga ang isa sa pinaka rason n’ya,”

she said.

Seeing the intention of her son, Sylvia gave her full support. The veteran actress shared that Arjo Atayde saw the predicaments of the poor Filipinos, especially amid the pandemic. With this, Sylvia said that she and her husband will guide their son if he will be elected. They want him to do his duty to his constituents diligently.

Although she and her son are getting nervous as the latter is set to start his political journey, the veteran actress said that Arjo got her 1000 percent support.
