2 Showrooms with Smuggled Luxury Cars in QC, Pampanga Raided by Customs

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) personnel has raided two (2) showrooms located in Quezon City and Pampanga with allegedly smuggled luxury cars.

Two shops in Quezon City and Pampanga were discovered with reportedly smuggled costly autos worth P500 million. The Bureau of Customs received information regarding expensive vehicles parked at facilities in Quezon City’s Xavierville and Pampanga’s San Simon.

Several bulletproof automobiles, such as Lamborghini and Ferrari, as well as large motorcycles, such as Ducati, were confiscated from showroom operators in collaboration with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). It was discovered that such autos lacked the necessary importation paperwork.

The Customs Modernization and Tariff Act gives owners 15 days to submit importation documents or the automobiles would be seized. Meanwhile, officials in Quezon City discovered

P50 million in coins and five luxury cars without plates

at a warehouse.

The raid was carried out after the region was supposedly under close monitoring for more than two months, according to the report. When the authorities reached the location, they were confronted with sacks of coins and luxury cars worth an estimated P100 million.

Aside from the sacks, all other coins are plastic-wrapped. The purpose of the sacks of coins has yet to be determined, according to BOC Intelligence Division chief Joel Pinawin.

Authorities shut down and sealed down the area after the raid. Its owners were given 15 days to explain the sacks of coins discovered in their possession, which were considered to be from unlawful activity, as well as the unlicensed luxury cars.
