Minors still not allowed to go to malls, parks in NCR under Alert Level 3

MANILA, Philippines — Minors are still not allowed to go to malls and parks in Metro Manila, which is currently under Alert Level 3, Malacañang, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) clarified on Thursday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos said minors can only go out to access basic and essential needs and for outdoor individual exercises.

“Ang pagpunta sa malls, generally, bawal ‘yan, except kung nandun ‘yung dentista, nandoon ‘yung clinic, which are essential and basic,” Abalos said in a Palace briefing.

“Para sa menor de edad, bawal pa rin ang gala ng mga kabataan except for individual outdoor exercises,” Roque, for his part, said when asked if minors can go to parks.

Abalos said that Metro Manila mayors have agreed to allow intrazonal and interzonal travel for minors as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
