PNP: 36,758 violated quarantine rules since NCR placed on Alert Level 3

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday reported that some 36,758 individuals have violated quarantine protocols in Metro Manila since the region was placed under COVID Alert Level 3 on October 16.
According to the PNP data, quarantine violations averaged 9,190 daily since Saturday, and that the number of quarantine violators was only as of Monday, October 19.

The PNP said 26,664 violated minimum public health standards, 240 were non-APORs (authorized persons outside residences), and 9,854 breached the curfew.
It also said the majority or 57 percent (21,051) of the accosted violators were warned, 35 percent (12,685) fined, and 8 percent (3,022) faced other sanctions.
The national pandemic task force has raised
COVID Alert Level 3 over the National Capital Region
or Metro Manila from October 16-31. Under this alert level, more business establishments are allowed to open while mobility restrictions have been relaxed.
Curfew hours were also shortened in Metro Manila under such alert level, now from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.
