MANILA, Philippines — Minors will only be allowed to  “point to point” travel once alert level 3 is imposed in Metro Manila by October 16,

Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said on Thursday.

“When we talk about restrictions, we only talk about point to point. For example if you are bringing your family to Tagaytay, or bringing your family where quarantine classifications are low, then you would be allowed to bring your kids from your residence to the specific area,” Malaya said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.

Malaya, however, said that minors are still not allowed in public places. Playgrounds and parks remain closed in areas under alert level 3.

“But the kids per se are not allowed to go out, even the senior citizens, unless it is to access essential services or if the senior citizens are going to work as part of permitted industries,” he added.

“You know I made sure that I know the answer to that, because my kids are also waiting to be let out into the world, but I was told that that would be at alert level 2,” Malaya said.

“So let’s all pray that the alert level continues to slide down so that kids would finally be allowed to go out in public places.”

Metro Manila will be under the

alert level 3 from October 16 to 31.
