Smart partners with JoyRide, mobile phone credits now available on superapp

Smart Communications, Inc., the wireless arm of PLDT, Inc., announced Friday that subscribers can purchase mobile phone credits on JoyRide, a superapp developed by startup We Move Things Philippines, Inc.

Through Smart’s retail partner, Remitbox, customers in Metro Manila can also purchase SIM (subscriber identity module) cards, prepaid load cards, and Smart Bro devices (which provide internet connection with mobile data) through the JR Pay feature in

“Our partnership with JoyRide and Remitbox allows us to reach more customers and provide them with prepaid load and devices that would help them connect… and empower them to pursue their passion and purpose through technology,” said Precy P. Katigbak, first vice president and head of national key accounts at PLDT and Smart, in a press statement.

JoyRide started as a motorcycle taxi service when it was launched in December 2019. The platform now has eight products and reports
