Robredo to file her COC for president at 3 p.m. Thursday — OVP

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo will file her certificate of candidacy (COC) for president before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, her office confirmed.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) said after Robredo’s announcement that she will proceed to the tent at the Sofitel which is being used by Comelec to accommodate candidates for the 2022 national elections.

Earlier, Robredo ended months of speculation about her political plans, saying that she is running for the presidency in the upcoming polls.

Robredo said during her speech at her office in the Quezon City Reception House that she is now ready to fight it out in the upcoming polls, even if she will face an uphill battle just to end the people’s sufferings.

(I believe that love is measured not by suffering, but by being ready to fight, no matter how hard, to end the suffering. The one who loves must fight for the one they love.)

(My mind is fully made up that we need to free ourselves from our current situation. I will fight, we will fight. I am presenting myself as a candidate for the presidency in the 2022 elections.)
