Up to P1 million worth of prizes await participants of the 2021 Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup.

Cyber racers need to run through the different stages of the virtual circuit — which has four rounds — to collect points and reach the championship.

The overall national champion gets to win a cash prize and a brand-new Sony PlayStation 5.

The second placer wins a high-powered tablet and the third placer gets a gaming chair.

Gamers who reach the national rounds can also win gaming gears, gaming steering wheels, portable gaming consoles, high-definition gaming headsets, top-tier gaming monitors, tablets, smart home devices and portable action cameras.

A PlayStation gaming headset, gaming mouse, gaming drive shifter, plus smart home devices are also up for grabs in the junior and special racing categories.

Racers need to accumulate as many points as possible by entering and requalifying in all the rounds from April to June.

The first round just came to a close on Friday but players may still join the next ones. Round 2 of the Leaderboard Race starts on May 28 and the Race Heat on May 29.

The Round 3 Leaderboard Race is on June 18 and the Final Heat happens the next day, June 19, when the podium finishers are set to be determined.

Participants can register in the following classes: sporting (professional), promotional (non-professional) and junior (17 and below).

The races which promise to bring Waku Doki — the feeling of excitement and adrenaline rush — can be viewed on the official Facebook page of Toyota Motor Philippines.

“We are eager to bring Waku Doki in the Filipino homes especially in these trying times where almost everyone is encouraged to stay safe at home. It is equally a wonderful time for emerging Filipino gamers and champions to hone their talent and win the GR GT Cup. We are excited to meet the fastest Filipino driver this year,” Toyota Motor Philippines vice-president for marketing services Elijah Marcial said.
