Coast Guard to deploy 25,000 personnel for the holidays
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will deploy 25,000 personnel nationwide for the holiday season as part of its Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2022.

All Coast Guard districts, stations, and substations nationwide will also be on heightened alert from Dec. 15 to Jan. 7, Admiral Artemio Abu, the PCG commandant, was quoted as saying by a PCG statement issued on Tuesday.
“This is to ensure that the riding public will have safe, secure, convenient, and comfortable sea travel during the holiday season,” the statement said.

Abu also reminded shipowners to ensure the seaworthiness of their vessels.
“We remind our fellow countrymen to plan their travels so that their journey will be safe, convenient, and secure. The Philippine Coast Guard is there to help them,” Abu said in Filipino.
