Meanwhile, Xian Lim and McCoy de Leon, who were then too young to have been part of “That’s Entertainment” which ran until 1996, will be playing the role of Manila mayor Isko Moreno. He was an alumnus of the show.

The current list of actors is only the first batch of artists set to appear in the movie, stated Saranggola Media Productions on March 23.

The other roles to be played by all the “That’s Entertainment” stars are still unknown, but they may be revealed soon as Gibbs stated that he was cast to play the late host and star builder German Moreno.

He first teased about the role by posting a selfie on his Instagram page last March 18, saying he had to shave his face for a movie he was going to be in. He later on announced that he will be playing Moreno by reacting to a news article on the movie on March 23.

“This is why i shaved. Honored to be playing Kuya Germs! Oh and i get to sing and dance too,” Gibbs said.

There’s still much to know about the production, but its director Joven Tan is constantly giving updates about its progress with some behind-the-scenes photos of recording and editing for the movie.

“Yorme” is a musical biopic film about Isko Moreno, under VIVA Films and Saranggola Productions. It will depict the mayor’s early life in Tondo, to his stint in “That’s Entertainment” in the 1990s until his current term as mayor, according to VIVA Entertainment. JB
