Heat index on June 16 in Cagayan and Isabela may reach 46°C – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Tuguegarao City in Cagayan and Isabela State University in Echague, Isabela are expected to hit the highest heat index at 46°C on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.
In its latest bulletin, the state weather service said these areas may also experience extreme heat at 45°C — Aparri in Cagayan, Legazpi City in Albay and Masbate City in Masbate.

Pagasa said 30 other areas nationwide are forecast to hit a heat index of 42 to 51°C, which falls under the “danger” category.
The state weather bureau explained this level would likely cause heat cramps and exhaustion, while heat stroke is probable with continued heat or sun exposure.
Meanwhile, the following areas may reach 44°C:
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
Dagupan City, Pangasinan
Bacnotan, La Union
Calayan, Cagayan
CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija
Casiguran, Aurora
Alabat, Quezon
Virac, Catanduanes
On the other hand, the following areas could hit 42 to 43°C:
