Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde and Kapuso actress Maine Mendoza narrated the story of their first meeting.
Arjo and Maine are set to tie the knot this year. It is known to many showbiz fans that their engagement became the talk of the town for several days. The actor really took an effort to have the surprise proposal for his soon-to-be wife.
The families of the two celebrities are also very supportive of their relationship. Since Arjo’s family is in showbiz as well, they would share photos of them together at different events.
In a recent Mega Entertainment feature, the celebrity couple shared the story of their meet-cute. They first met during the story conference for the film Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles in 2018.
At first, they were shy around each other but eventually, they were vibing. Arjo Atayde admitted that he always had a thing for Maine Mendoza but there was no chance for them to meet before that.
When asked if it was love at first sight, the actor said, “Ang feeling ko, it was more of a sincere thing. I’ve always had a crush on her, and I’ve always had a thing for her, but there were no chances of meeting her. So I didn’t expect anything until I met her.”
From being shy around each other, the feelings grew as they continued talking to each other. When they started to go out, Arjo can say that there was a feeling of contentment that they can’t explain and everything went smoothly for them. “We just blend well together,” he added.
Maine said that Arjo was her crush as well. She said that although their personalities are different, they matched.
“So, I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight, but it was a series of conversations and getting to know this and stuff like that. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, I saw him, and I love him.’ Walang gano’n. I wouldn’t consider it as love at first sight. Does it really happen in real life?” the Kapuso actress said.
Maine also said that there are no pretensions between her and Arjo as they can be themselves in front of each other.
