85-man PH contingent leaves for quake-ravaged Turkey

The Philippines has deployed an interagency disaster response team following a massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and northern Syria. An 85-man contingent composed of personnel from the Office of Civil Defense, urban search and rescue team from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Metro Manila Development Authority, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and emergency medical teams from the Department of Health (DOH) left for Turkey via a commercial flight provided by the Turkish Airlines on Wednesday night.
