Marjorie Barretto Doesn’t Want Son Leon To Join Showbiz
MARJORIE BARRETTO – Celebrity mom Marjorie Barretto said she does not want her son Leon Barreto to become an actor.
Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla have three children: Julia Barretto, Claudia Barretto, and Leon Barretto. She has two other children, Dani Barretto with Kier Legaspi and Erich Barretto with former mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri.
Leon threw questions at his mother in his YouTube vlog on February 3, 2023. He asked what advice his mother had for him when he graduated from college.
Leon Barretto is studying Marketing at the University of Asia and the Pacific. “Getting to medical school,” answered Marjorie.
“I can’t imagine you in the outside world. I can’t imagine you after college.”
The former actress then poked her son with a question: “What do you plan to do?”
Leon answered: “I don’t know. But I have a question… If I become an artista…”

Even though Leon Barretto had not finished asking, Marjorie Barretto immediately countered: “Oh, my God, please. I don’t like…”
It can be seen on Marjorie’s face that she’s against her son’s idea. The young man then asked his mom why she didn’t want him to join the show business.
“Hindi ko talaga gusto. Pag naiisip ko si Leon mag-aartista, talaga yung katawan ko nire-reject niya,” said Marjorie.
Leon also knows that even his sisters are against the idea of him going into showbiz. “Hindi talaga, Leon. Alam mo, honestly, kami lahat ng kapatid mo pag sinasabi mo mag-artista [ka], we’re one. We’re like, ‘No way!’” Marjorie added.
Marjorie, Dennis, and Julia are artists; while Dani is a vlogger, and Claudia is a singer.
“Definitely they’re all very good people,” said Marjorie about showbiz people.
“But I’m just saying I would like to see the second batch of my children outside of the industry.”
The “second batch” that Marjorie refers to is Leon and Erich. She said, “I wanna see you into business. I wanna see you in a different path.”
“And ang galing-galing mo sa school. Takot ako na baka pag pumasok ka, bigla kang mag-stop mag-school. Wag na.”
