Kathryn Bernardo TV Shows “Hindi nag-rate”? Alora Sasam Has Fiery Answer
Kathryn Bernardo is being accused of having “flop TV projects”
Comedienne Alora Sasam defended actress Kathryn Bernardo against a claim that the latter’s TV projects did not get high ratings.
Just recently, Kathryn’s name trended online. It is because of Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards’s interview on Kapuso actor Paolo Contis’s show, Just In. In the said interview, Paolo mentioned the success of the movie Hello, Love, Goodbye.
The said movie was under Star Cinema, the film outfit of ABS-CBN, the home network of Kathryn while Alden is from GMA-7. A video clip from the interview in which Paolo said that the highest-grossing film of Star Cinema and ABS-CBN, actually featured someone from GMA.
This received implication that Paolo Contis was sort of discrediting the contribution of Kathryn Bernardo as an actress in the said film. The Kapuso actor received bashing due to this. However, some Kapuso fans stated that the video was cut and the real intention of the host was not shown. In a longer version of the video, Kathryn was also acknowledged by Paolo as the “biggest star of ABS-CBN.”
In line with this issue, fans of the Kapamilya actress defended her. However, there were also pages that slammed her as an actress just like what was posted on the Twitter Page @Showbiz_Polls.
“HLG was the highest grossing Filipino film of all time because GMA 7 helped with the promotion. Both Alden and Kathryn carried this film. Kung walang Alden, walang almost 1B na kita. Aminin man natin o hindi, malaki tulong na nagawa ng GMA,” the page admin wrote in a tweet on January 27.
In a follow-up tweet, it said, “FYI, Kathryn may have box office films under her belt pero nag rate ba ang mga TV shows siya? Name me one.” This did not sit well with Alora Sasam, one of closest friends of Kathryn Bernardo in showbiz.
The comedienne retweeted the said post discrediting Kathryn as an actress with this caption: “Isa lang po talaga hinihingi niyo po? [face with hand over mouth emoji] Marami mami. Kahit cameo niya sa Endless Love ng GMA nagrate kaya di na xa pinakawalan ng ABS. FYI.”
Alora was referring to Kathryn’s cameo in the 2010 Kapuso series Endless Love featuring the Kapuso Primetime King and Queen, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. In the said series, Kathryn played the young Marian. At that time, she already did shows on the Kapamilya network.
