Netizens Praise Honest Boy for Returning Lost Money to Cancer Survivor Teacher

HEARTWARMING STORY – An honest boy identified as Ashnor Abbas Cadato has returned the lost money he found to a cancer survivor teacher.

The nine-year-old boy who is a Grade 3 learner of Sto. Niño Central Elementary School, Talaingod District earns praises online after showing an act of honesty as he returned a lot of money to its respective owner.

On January 4, 2023, Ashnor Abbas Cadato found an envelope on the grounds of the North Davao Electric Cooperative Office in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. He found a certain amount of cash inside the envelope.

The young boy and her mom Asleah posted it on Facebook and attached the owner’s name. The student decided to return the lost money to the owner. They went to NORDECO office and turned over the money to the security guard.

“Masaya po akong nakita ko ang pera, at alam kong kailangan itong ibalik sa may-ari,” Ashnor said.

The owner identified as Teacher Oliva Alimes Pelias of Pandulian Elementary School in Kapalong East District get a sigh of relief after someone informed her lost envelope containing P2,000 had been found.

Teacher Oliva had her niece reclaim the money because she was in the middle of a class discussion during that time. She also explained that the money was meant to cover some of her medical needs as a cancer survivor.

“First and foremost, walang kalalagyan na saya ang aking nararamdaman. Sobrang blessed dahil sa mga kamay na nakapulot ng aking pera. At this hard time, hindi ko lubos akalaing maibalik pa sa akin nang buo ang perang nalaglag ko kahapon. God is so good dahil wala akong stress at pressure na naramdaman kahapon dahil pinaubaya Niya ito sa isang mabuting kamay. Isa akong cancer survivor na madaling makaranas ng stress at pressure, ni isang katiting na pag-alala wala akong naramdaman. Napalaki ng magulang ang isang bata sa pagiging matapat. Values integration in school was instilled in the heart and mind of the Grade 3 boy. Sobrang proud ako sa mag-ina,” Teacher Oliva said.
