LA Tenorio is uncertain of Ginebra’s championship chances in the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup but is glad for Justin Brownlee’s upcoming Gilas stint.

The 38-year-old guard was not hesitant to admit that they are “still in the process of doing the system properly.”

With a 9-3 record and trailing Bay Area and Magnolia, Ginebra managed to stay in hunt for a twice-to-beat cushion after dealing Converge its fourth loss last Nov. 30.

Despite keeping themselves in a pretty decent spot for a semifinals berth, the Ginebra captain is under no illusions that it would be a walk in the park.

“So far, how we play, well, honestly, we can win the championship. But the way we’re playing right now, I don’t think we can win the championship. Because we’re still in the process of doing the system properly. But if you’re gonna ask me if we we’re gonna win the championship, of course, we want to win the championship. But so far, if the question is do you think we’re gonna win the championship? My answer will be no,” said Tenorio during his appearance in Rec•Create’s recent YouTube video with Brownlee.

After their successful six-year run together as teammates, Tenorio couldn’t be more grateful to share the same side of the court with Brownlee.

“I must say that, honestly, I will not get all these awards and everyone in the team we’re not gonna get that if not because of you,” he added.

The 38-year-old Brownlee, who got a huge lift after the House of Representatives passed on the third and final reading a bill seeking to grant him Filipino citizenship,  was just as delighted to extend his services to the national team.

“Of course, I just want to say thank you for playing your heart out every time you play here in the Philippines, you and your desire to play for the national team it’s really big also. It’s a testament that you really love the Philippines not only of course, Ginebra,” said Tenorio.
