Message of President Bongbong Marcos on Bonifacio Day

President Bongbong Marcos gave a statement on the celebration of the Andres Bonifacio Day 2022 in the Philippines.

Today is a regular holiday in the Philippines. Due to this, classes in schools and work in most employment offices are suspended. In the case of those who reported to their duties today, they will be receiving a double pay. The country commemorates the birth of Filipino hero Andres Bonifacio.

Bonifacio is known as the father of the Philippine revolution and one of the founders of the KKK or the Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan. He led the Katipuneros against the Spanish colonizers of the country. He is one of the most popular national heroes in the Philippines.

On Bonifacio Day 2022, President Bongbong Marcos led the commemoration of the national hero’s 159th birth anniversary. He laid a wreath for the national hero at an event held at the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in his message for the Bonifacio Day 2022 celebration, President Bongbong Marcos stressed that commemorating the memories of Gat Andres Bonifacio and the other Filipino heroes is important to enrich the history of the country which will guide us to a better future.

Pres. Marcos said that Bonifacio had the kind of bravery that did not give up for the country and the Filipino people even amid the danger. According to the President, it is the Filipinos’ duty to keep the causes of the heroes alive as heirs of the freedom they fought for.

“Sikapin natin na maging pinakamahusay na uri ng ating mga sarili… Bawat isa sa atin ay may angking kakayahan na makagawa ng kabutihan sa ating pamayanan,” he said.

Based on the report, in a separate message, President Bongbong Marcos expressed an encouragement to the people to cherish the liberty. He stressed that Bonifacio whose ideas sparked the fire among others to fight for the freedom of the country will live on in the stories we tell and use for his legacy.

“Indeed, it was his deeds that provided the impetus for our collective liberation, which we are challenged to preserve and protect amidst these trying times,” the President said.
