BOC eyeing Port of Davao as Asean logistics hub

 

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is planning to turn the Port of Davao into one of the logistics hubs or alternative centers for trade in Southeast Asia.

BOC Port of Davao District Collector Erastus Austria made the announcement during a visit by Singaporean Ambassador to the Philippines Gerard Ho, the BOC said in a statement.

Austria said the plan is in line with the National Economic and Development Authority – Region XI’s (NEDA XI) proposed plan to update the Davao Gulf Development Plan (DGDP) of 2013.
