Senate panel OKs granting of Philippine citizenship to Justin Brownlee

MANILA, Philippines — A measure granting Philippine citizenship to basketball player Justin Brownlee has been approved by a Senate panel on Monday.

The Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights, chaired by Senator Francis Tolentino, deliberated Senate Bill No. 1336 or Granting Philippine Citizenship to Justin Brownlee, filed by Senator Ronald dela Rosa.

Senator Sonny Angara, chairperson of the Samahan ng Basketbol ng Pilipinas, and Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva have likewise lodged separate measures with a similar goal.
