Cignal rode on the strong showing of import Tai Bierria to beat United Auctioneers-Army, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Thursday (Nov. 3) at the Filoil EcoOil Centre Arena in San Juan City.

Bierria pumped in 16 kills to finish with 17 points for the HD Spikers, who bounced back from a two-game slide and improved to 2-2, reviving their semis hopes.

Rachel Anne Daquis and Ces Molina also provided the spark with 10 points apiece for Cignal, which dicdated the tempo throughout despite the persistent attempts of Army.

Three other players shone for the HD Spikers with Roselyn Doria and Ria Meneses scoring seven points each, and Angeli Araneta contributing six points.

Cignal, which needed 1 hour and 27 minutes in beating Army, produced 48 kills, including combined 24 points from Bierria and Molina.

The HD Spikers also provided a tough defensive wall at the net with seven blocks – three from Daquis.

Laura Condotta and Jovelyn Gonzaga fired 13 and 10 points for Army, but still fell short of their efforts to snap their losing spell as they plummeted to 0-5.
