Vhong Navarro Plea To Stay In NBI Detention Center Denied

VHONG NAVARRO – Taguig RTC Branch 69 denied the motion of Vhong Navarro to remain in the NBI detention center.

In a previous article, the Court of Appeals (CA) denied the motion for reconsideration regarding Showtime host Vhong Navarro’s cases. The Kapamilya star filed to dismiss the charges that were filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.

Meanwhile, Cornejo’s lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio stated that they are preparing to file contempt charges against the lawyer of Navarro and Tanya Bautista, his wife. This is because of their statements that were “sub judice in nature”.

And just recently, Taguig RTC Branch 69 denied Navarro again in his plea to stay in the National Bureau Of Investigation (NBI) detention center.

In his motion, he mentioned intending to face the charges against him and also shared that his wife previously received a threatening text message that said:

“Pasabi diyan sa asawa mong r*p*st Mr. Suabi, nag aantay kami dito sa Taguig, paki bilisan”

He also noted that he fears such a message because Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and their friends previously got detained in Taguig City Jail before and their possible connections inside are very alarming.

However, Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan found that his motion lacked details to justify why he needs to stay in detention. Also, Navarro did not attach the said threatening message based on a report from ABS-CBN.

The court also stressed that the city jail upholds respect and protection of the prisoners’ human rights.

Meanwhile, Cornejo’s legal counsel already filed a motion pleading for the transfer of the accused actor to the Taguig City Jail.
