Over P380,000 meth seized in Calabarzon

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three drug suspects, two of them armed, on Thursday and Friday during buy-bust operations in Rizal, Cavite, and Quezon provinces.

The Calabarzon police said anti-narcotics agents in Binangonan, Rizal collared at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Romeo Sulayao after he sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to a poseur buyer in Barangay Pag-asa.

The police seized five sachets of shabu weighing 40 grams with a Dangerous Drugs (DDB) Board value of about P272,000.

Sulayao was also carrying an undocumented loaded .45 pistol.

Police said Sulayao was a high-value individual on their drug watch list.

In General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite, the police busted at 12:15 a.m. Friday Edwin Bautista in Barangay Virata.

Bautista yielded four sachets of meth and an undocumented .38 revolver with three bullets.

In this city, the police drug enforcement unit busted at 2:15 a.m. Friday Ernesto Gadbilao in Barangay Kanlurang Mayao, reported Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief.

The police said Gadbilao yielded shabu worth P113,016 in the street market.

Also seized from Gadbilao was a motorcycle believed to have been used in his illegal drugs trade.

The police placed all suspects in their custody as they prepare charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Sulayao and Bautista will also be charged with a case for illegal possession of a firearm. INQ
