CINEMALAYA 2022 WINNERS – The winners of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival Awards are finally announced.

The 18th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival Awards finally returned to the Cultural Center of the Philippines Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo. The awarding was held last August 14 and among the big winners was actress Max Eigenmann who got the Best Actress award.

According to a previous article, she is dedicating this achievement to her late aunt, Cherie Gil, who succumbed to cancer. Her aunt gave her the best memories and among those included her enjoying wine when she drinks it with her. She was classy and elegant for her and she was also the most empathic, kind, and loving.

The film “The Baseball Player”, among the big winners as well, was recognized for “its sheer poignance and quiet power, for its subtle but trenchant storytelling, and for its penetrating take on the Mindanao conflict and the sad wreckage it has made of young, innocent lives.”
