5.6-magnitude quake jolts Davao del Sur

DAVAO CITY — A magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocked Davao del Sur on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs also said the epicenter of the temblor. which hit 4:23 p.m., is 11 kilometers northwest of Magsaysay town.

It added that the quakehad a depth of focus of 6 km from the surface and was tectonic in origin.

There was no reported damage so far.
