Zambales Town Mayor Announces P20 Per Kilo Rice Will Be Available to Public Starting Next Month

Zambales town announced that the LGU will sell P20 per kilogram rice for 17, 000 families within eight weeks starting next month.

A few days ago, a Kakampink supporter identified as “Kakampink 101” has shared the video footage of himself selling rice at P20 per kilogram to help unfortunate Filipinos during this time of crisis.

The kind vlogger started selling the rice a few weeks ago around Taytay and Taguig areas. Most of the beneficiaries were supporters of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Recently, Iba Mayor Aireen Maniquiz-Binan said that the program was inspired by the “Rice Subsidy Program” presented by former Botolan Mayor and now Zambales 2nd District Representative Nanay Bing Maniquiz.

Mayor Aireen that the rice subsidy program will last for eight weeks. The local government unit has also allocated a certain amount of cash for the program, which aims to help the less-fortunate residents.

The rice subsidy aims to sell affordable rice to the less-fortunate Filipinos during the rainy season.

Nanay Bing and Mayor Omar Ebdane have also expressed their desire to implement the program not only in Botolan but also in the different towns in the province. It is also a fulfillment of President “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s dream to provide affordable rice for Filipinos.

During the campaign period, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. promised to bring down rice prices to P20 per kilogram once he won the presidential election.

However, the group Bantay Bigas described BBM’s desire to provide P20 per kilo rice as “suntok sa buwan”.
