Michael De Mesa was accordingly “iyak ng iyak” over the passing of Cherie Gil, his sister.

CHERIE GIL – One of the industry’s best artists Cherie Gil passed away which surprised many people because she kept her condition a secret.

As of this writing, the real cause of death of La Primera Contravida actress Cherie Gil has not been disclosed yet. Annabelle Rama was among the first personalities to reveal the veteran actress has died. And speculations online stated that she died of cancer because she’s been receiving treatment from Memorial Sloan Kettering – Cancer Center in New York.

To recall, in the early months of this year, she sold all her properties in the country and left show business. She decided to live in New York permanently to be with her children who are based there. But what baffled the people was that she shaved her head before she left.

It was accordingly a sign of “rebirth” for her. However, people already have the hunch that the reason why she decided to let go of her hair is because of a condition. And she left the country keeping her condition a secret. She did not speak about it even for one time that she was going through something with her health. She kept it in utmost secrecy.

And her brother Michael De Mesa, upon hearing the news while he was shooting Ang Probinsyano was not able to stop himself from crying. People on that set shared that he was crying inside his car.

Michael, Cherie, and late actor Mark Gil are siblings. Cherie died of, allegedly, cancer while Mark died in 2014 due to liver cancer. A statement from a report from PEP stated, “Ayon sa mga eyewitness account, iyak nang iyak si Michael sa loob ng sasakyan dahil sa pagkawala ng kanyang pinakamamahal at nag-iisang kapatid na babae.”
