Netizens have these reactions to the “ambiguous” Kuya Kim tweet about monkeypox.

KUYA KIM TWEET – GMA host Kuya Kim Atienza has this post about “M to M” interaction that spread monkeypox infection.

Monkeypox Virus first case in the Philippines has been detected based on a previous article. The patient is a 31-year-old Filipino from abroad who arrived in the country last July 19. The he World Health Organization (WHO) has already declared this a global health emergency.

The CDC said that among the symptoms once one person gets infected by this include fever, chills, exhaustion, headache, and muscle weakness. The appearance of swelling in the lymph nodes is also one main characteristic of this.

And just recently, sharing information and details online is Kuya Kim Atienza. He uses his social media page as a platform to share valuable knowledge, life tips, current news, and his personal opinion. However, his one tweet about monkeypox earned objecting comments.

Comparing the severity of chickenpox and monkeypox, he stated that the former is lesser. Kuya Kim expressed that monkeypox can be transmitted through doing the “s” thing and specifically sighted that it usually happens in M-to-M or male-to-male interaction.

Others took offense to this post and tagged this a “homophobic” post. In one of his succeeding posts, he shared a context proving his point and showing that he does not mean anything.

With all these negative comments and some unexpected understanding born because of this controversial post, Kuya Kim sincerely apologized.

He apologized to those who got deeply affected by his tweet and admitted that his post was “ambiguous and caused a lot of hurt, especially to members of the LGBTQ community”.

Some people react this way probably because his post appeared direct and specific to one gender. He apologized despite the several posts he shared to prove his point.
