Mariel Padilla shared a post about Toni Gonzaga

Actress-host Toni Gonzaga received this heartwarming message from her fellow former Pinoy Big Brother host Mariel Padilla.

Mariel and Toni spent several years as hosts of the Kapamilya reality show. When Mariel decided to leave the show, her friendship with Toni, as well as with the current main host Bianca Gonzales remained.

In a recent Instagram post, Mariel shared a photo of Toni and her caption showed how happy she is for her friend. “Soooo excited for you!!! Tomorrow (June 30) is your victory as well!!! Proud of you, my friend @celestinegonzaga,” Mariel Padilla wrote.

Toni Gonzaga was chosen to sing the Philippine National Anthem during President-elect Bongbong Marcos’s inauguration. Toni and her husband award-winning director Paul Soriano have been very active during the campaign period.

Despite the bashing and mean reactions from the other camp, the celebrity couple continued to stand for their presidential candidate. Even celebrities who are supporting the opponents of the incoming President have expressed comments against Toni and Paul.

The photo that Mariel shared on her IG Story showed that Toni was standing alone on the stage where the inauguration was set to be held. Mariel said, “Literal na nag-iisa ka” which can have two meanings.

In a previous statement, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, President-elect Bongbong Marcos commended Toni Gonzaga for everything she did for his campaign. “Siya (Toni) ang nagsimula ng kampanyang ito. I never imagined that this elegant lady can withstand all the criticisms. Sabi ko nga Paul, ‘yung asawa mo is badass,” PBBM said.

The bashing against Toni started when she guested PBBM on her YouTube talk show Toni Talks. She did a series of interviews featuring politicians even before the election period has officially started.
