Mother of Pinoy Lawyer Speaks on Happenings Before Son Got Shot in U.S.

MOTHER OF PINOY LAWYER – Leah Laylo revealed her last moments with her son, Atty. John Albert Laylo, before he was shot in the United States.

Last June 18, a tragic incident involving Filipinos took place in the United States. A 35-year-old lawyer identified as John Albert Laylo who was with his mother was shot while he was aboard an Uber ride to Philadephia airport.

Laylo and his mother were on a much-needed vacation then. They were supposed to fly to Chicago on that day when the unexpected incident that took her son’s life happened. They woke up early in the morning to prepare and head to the airport not knowing they won’t get there.

Recently, the mother of the Pinoy lawyer who was shot in the U.S. broke her silence and revealed the last moments with her son before the incident that caused his death took place. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Leah Laylo said that her son woke her up at 3:40 in the morning.

The mother and son prepared for their flight to Chicago and even had a selfie before they took their Uber ride to the Philadelphia airport. Leah stressed that she did not know it would be her last photo with her son that he is alive.

Based on the report, when they reached the intersection of Spruce and South38th, a still unidentified suspect fired at their vehicle several times. They were only around five (5) minutes into their ride when the incident took place while the vehicle was parked.

According to the mother of the Pinoy lawyer, the glass of the door shattered and she saw her son bleeding. She laid down and bow her head to protect herself while trying to pull her son down. He obtained a shot at the back of his head which caused his death.

Leah Laylo stressed that she lost her son in just five (5) minutes. According to her, they were okay but her only regrets were that she was not able to tell him that she loves him and to hug him. She said that she will always remember her son as a “kind, loving, caring person” who loves everyone.

The mother of the Pinoy lawyer is on her way to the Philippines now with the remains of John Albert. She is deeply hoping that justice would be served upon her son’s death.
