Man nabbed, P15,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Oriental Mindoro town

CITY OF CALAPAN — A 35-year-old man was arrested early Monday by authorities in Roxas town, Oriental Mindoro province over illegal drugs, according to a report from the Mimaropa regional police office.

Police said Abner Solabo, tagged as a high-value suspect, was arrested for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 through a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Pinamalayan town.

The search warrant was served from 3:20 a.m. to 6:35 a.m. on Monday, said Capt. Clyde Kalyawen, police regional information officer.

Seized from Solabo, a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan, were 12 sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) weighing about 2.30 grams and valued at P15,640.

From January to June 27, police in Mimaropa reported 152 anti-illegal drug operations that led to 169 arrests of drug suspects, yielding a total of 365.370 grams of shabu valued at P2,484,516. INQ
