Police Authorities Arrest Man For Disrespecting 19-Year-Old Lady Online

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – A man has been arrested after he allegedly maliciously disrespected a 19-year-old lady online.

According to the investigation of the Eastern District Anti-Cybercrime Team, the lady victim is walking along with a nearby supermarket at Arcovia, Brgy. Ugong in Pasig City on Thursday morning (June 23) when the incident happened.

The unnamed victim did not notice the suspect filming her action while walking along the road as a part of her exercise routine. Around 9:00 am the same day, one of her friends send a screenshot of her photo with a malicious caption.

The woman realized that it was a video of herself while performing her physical activity. The video has a caption “pg 2mingin ka, ****** ka“. The young lady also confirmed to her friends that she was the woman in the video.

The Eastern District Anti-Cybercrime Team launched an entrapment operation around 6:00 pm on Thursday evening. The authorities found the suspect watching the footage of the female victim.

The authorities immediately arrest the suspect and brought him to the police station for documentation. The suspect peacefully surrendered and admitted his mistakes. “Ako ay nagkamali at humihingi ng kapatawaran. Sana po maging aral na lang sa iba,” the suspect said.

However, the culprit defended himself and explained that he had no malicious intent towards the lady. “First time ko, ‘yun lang sa TikTok, ibang vlogger nakikita ko … humanga lang ako sa kaniya,” the latter reiterated.

The man immediately delete the video and removed it on social media. The suspect will face charges of Safe Space Act or Bawal Bastos Law and unjust vexation.
