Jameson Blake Talks About Having Two Fathers
Jameson Blake recalled the fondest memories he had with his dads
Kapamilya actor Jameson Blake talked about his life with his biological father and his stepfather who passed away last year.
Jameson started his career in showbiz through ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother. That has become his stepping stone to have a career in acting. His recent project is the series A Family Affair in which he portrays Andrew, a black sheep in the family.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Jameson said that he can relate to his character when it comes to being an introvert, however, they are opposite in terms of personality. “I don’t feel left out when I’m with my family; I’m definitely not a black sheep. The only similarity is that, for a time, I didn’t consider myself someone sociable. Drew and I are both introverts. That’s how I’m able to relate to him,” Jameson Blake said.
Talking about family, the actor actually has two fathers. He shared that every Father’s Day, he pays tribute to his stepdad Fidel Malinaw and to his biological father Robin Blake who is currently based in Hong Kong.
Jameson said that when his stepdad died last year, he became the man of the house, and with this, he has to be more responsible. Talking about his stepdad, the actor said that he has a lot of memories with him.
“I learned how to ride a motorbike with him. We learned how to drive a car together. I’m very grateful to him. I remember when I first came to the Philippines, it was rough. My parents had just separated. He was there for us. Basically, I was with him half my life,” he shared.
When it comes to his biological dad, Jameson Blake said that he makes sure to keep in touch. The actor said that as much as possible, he would chat with his dad, and if his schedule allows it, he would go to Hong Kong so that they could spend time together.
“Growing up, I didn’t know that my parents were already fighting a lot. They would always show that we were a happy family. I remember waking up, eating popcorn for breakfast—it was my favorite thing to eat—and then watching baseball while seated beside him,” Jameson Blake shared.
