MRT-3 Management Prohibits Passengers to Bring Any Flammable Substances & Sharp Objects

The MRT-3 management will implement stricter policies that prohibit passengers from bringing any flammable substances and sharp objects.

MRT-3 will impose stricter measures in compliance with the announcement of the Office for Transportation Security to ensure the strict implementation of the transport operator’s security plan.

The Office for Transportation Security made the announcement after the several blast incidents in different parts of Mindanao. The passengers will be subject to strict baggage checking, screening, inspection, and control of prohibited items before entering the station.

The Philippine Coast Guard personnel carrying K-9 units also roam around the North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, and Cubao stations to prevent unfortunate incidents. The stricter rules and regulations must be observed throughout the entire MRT-3 station.

MRT also prohibits the passengers to enter the station with sharp objects, ammunition, explosives, flammable substances, chemicals such as pesticides, muriatic acid, liquid hydrogen, etc.

The management is also encouraging the passengers to immediately report any suspicious person or objects inside the station for the safety of everyone.

The security marshals have the authority to apprehend and prohibit commuters who will commit violations to enter or leave the train. However, the management will continue to offer ‘free rides’ to passengers until the end of the month.
