Policeman Shoots & Accidentally Kills Suspect While Trying to Stop Him Stab His Own Cousin

PASCUAL, BATANGAS – A policeman accidentally shoots a male suspect while trying to stop him from stabbing his own cousin.

A 45-year-old man identified as Rolly Axalan of Barangay Ilat North in Batangas runs amok and apprehended the trike of his cousin named Ambrocio Axalan. The suspect blocked the victim for an unknown reason.

Ambrocio politely asked his cousin Rolly to move but the latter stabbed him a couple of times. Patrolman Jonathan Wee Bacroyang who was supposed to go to work witnessed the incident and tried to stop the suspect.

“Papasok na siya sa trabaho noon at around 8:35 am ‘nung May 21, at nadaan niya ito na inuundayan ng saksak ‘yung kanyang pinsan, So, dali-dali itong bumaba sa kanyang motor at tinulungan niya ito awatin ang pananaksak na ginawa,” Batangas Police Provincial Office director Police Colonel Glicerio Cansilao said.

Unfortunately, the suspect did not listen and tried to attack the policeman. The incident leaves Bacroyang with no choice but to shoot the suspect and prevent him from causing harm to other residents.

Axalan has been rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment but passed away during the procedure.

“Imbes na tumalima ay siya naman ang sinugod, akmang sasaksakin ito rin ating pulis kaya’t napilitan syang ito’s barilin, kasamaang palad habang ito’y ginagamot ‘dun sa ospital na pinagdalhan, binawian ng buhay,” Cansilado added.

The authorities discovered that Rolly has a mental disorder and usually loses self-control. The family wouldn’t file a case against the cop, according to Cansilao.
