Former ABS-CBN reporter Alex Santos was lambasted online due to biased reporting.

ALEX SANTOS – Net 25 reporter Alex Santos was criticized online over biased and unprofessional reporting about VP Leni Robredo and her daughters.

Former ABS-CBN and DZMM broadcaster Alex Santos became a trending topic online due to his biased and very unprofessional reporting according to netizens. He was lambasted online for his non-journalistic way of reporting.

“Mga anak ni outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo kulang nga ba sa pansin?” he said as he introduced the report about Robredo and his daughters who are currently in New York. They are there to attend the graduation of the youngest of their family.

During their stay there, just like how normal people online, they would share their activities there on Instagram and some snaps of the place they visited. But because of the status of VP Leni, their little movements there always reach the news. What they eat, what they do, and where they go are always reported.

And it seems like for Net 25, they do this for clout. In their own interpretation, it seems like VP Leni and her daughters sharing what they do abroad is just to catch attention and be famous. And for many people, such a way of reporting is very unbecoming of journalism and of a professional broadcaster.

Here are some comments from Twitter:

from a professional reporter to a troll real quick.

Sorry, decided not to share the video because what we don’t want is to amplify lies.

Gusto niyo makita kung ano ang totoong hitsura ng biased na media? Eto. Lantaran.

Straight out of Facebook comments. This is NOT journalism.
