Senate transfers COCs to House ahead of canvassing on May 24

MANILA, Philippines — Over 150 certificates of canvass (COCs) containing votes cast for the presidential and vice presidential races have arrived in the House of Representatives a day before Congress begins its canvassing on Tuesday.
The ballot boxes containing the COCs were transferred from the Senate building in Pasay City to the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City early Monday.

The boxes arrived at around 5 a.m, according to the Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau (PRIB).

So far, the Senate has received 156 or 90.17 percent of all 173 COCs, the Senate PRIB said.
The upper chamber, it added, will receive the remaining COCs on Tuesday, before Congress convenes in a joint session to canvass the votes cast for president and vice president.
