MANILA, Philippines—Despite missing out on a gold medal, Kiefer Ravena remained grateful to have represented the Philippines again in the Southeast Asian Games.

Ravena held his head high even after Gilas Pilipinas’ shocking 85-81 loss to Indonesia on Saturday at Thanh Tri Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The setback denied the Philippines of what should have been a 14th consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball.

“Thank you SEA GAMES for the competition, relationship and memories! 13 straight is tough to beat and i’m proud of my team! Sorry we [fell] short. #5and1 #OneForTheRoad,” Ravena tweeted.

Ravena also fell short in claiming his sixth SEA Games gold.

Indonesia, on the other hand, celebrated its first-ever basketball gold in the biennial meet.
