PAGASA Says Frontal System To Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the frontal system will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (May 19, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The frontal system will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the frontal system continues to bring intermittent rain and cloudy weather condition to Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.

“Dahil sa frontal system, makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa Batanes, Babuyan Islands, at Ilocos Norte,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thundestorms are expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon. The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama na ang Metro Manila, inaasahan pa rin natin ang bahagyang maulap lalong lalo na sa bandang umaga pero ‘pag dating sa hapon o gabi, inaasahan po natin ang maulap na kalangitan o makulimlim dahil sa mataas ang tsansa na magkaroon ng thunderstorms,” Aurelio said.

Visayas and Mindanao are expected to experience a fair weather condition due to the localized thunderstorms.

No low pressure area or storm has been found inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility, according to PAGASA.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the extreme northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate.
