13-Year-Boy to Face Charges For Breaking Car’s Windshield After Driver Refused to Accept Her Service

A car driver will file charges against a 13-year-old boy for breaking her vehicle’s windshield after she refused to accept the kid’s service.

A surveillance camera has caught the violent act of a 13-year-old boy who smashed a vehicle’s windshield along Barangay Mayamot in Antipolo, Rizal last May 7, 2022. The video goes viral and elicits comments online.

The car driver identified as Lorraine Pangilinan was stuck in traffic near a stoplight between Sumulong and Marcos Highway when a young went near her vehicle. The boy offered to wash her windshield.

According to the city officials, the kid is one of the so-called “wiper boys” offering to clean the windshield in exchange for some coins. Pangilinan turned on her wiper and refused to accept the kid’s offer.

The suspect went to his friends and reported the incident. After a few moments, the young teenager smashed the rear windshield using a wiper. The kid broke the windshield and immediately run away.

The local officials were able to locate the kid’s residence and talked to his parents. “Nagulat po ako. Nabigla po ako kasi ‘di ko naman po akalain na gagawin niya po ‘yun, hindi pa po umuuwi simula kahapon” Analiza Amor, the kid’s mom said.

Violence against Women & Chidlren Desk Melanie Laude said that Barangay Mayamor has been struggling with these “Wiper Boys” for causing problems.

The victim will file charges against the teenager for his inappropriate actions. The barangay will also hear the malicious mischief case filed against the suspect next week.
