Bubble Gang to embrace changes

Longest-running gag show Bubble Gang is set to have its relaunch and the show’s Senior Program Manager Cecille de Guzman and creative director Michael V shared what to expect.

Starting May 27, Kababols can expect changes in the show that has been bringing laughter for more than 26 years. In an online interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, De Guzman said that the show has been assessing the future of the program since last year.

The program manager shared one thing they have noticed during the pandemic and it is the rise of comedic personalities on social media like TikTok.

“Ina-acknowledge namin na lahat ‘yun iba-ibang paraan ng pagpapatawa. Yan ba ang maasahan natin sa relaunch? Yes!” De Guzman said  adding that they will be collaborating with different content creators who are ready to go mainstream.

“For example si Common Sense Teacher [Lottie Bie], we found out later on na nung kinakausap namin siya na fan pala siya ng Bubble Gang, matagal na. She used to work in ABS-CBN, but she’s a fan of Bubble Gang. In fact, Bubble Gang ang naging inspirasyon niya for her materials,” she shared.

Michael V stressed the importance of embracing changes. “Hindi naman porke na-establish na namin ‘yung sarili namin as a comedy show, e, wala ng room for improvement,” the creative director of the gag show said.

Bitoy also said that in order to grow, they should not be afraid to explore as platforms also change and this is what they are trying to do.

The award-winning gag show is set to feature five new members namely Kokoy de Santos, Faith da Silva, StarStruck heartthrob Kim de Leon, Dancer-YouTuber Dasuri Choi, and Tuesday Vargas.
