Pres. Duterte Speaks About Charter Change

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned the next chief executive of the country to push for the charter change early.

In less than two (2) months, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be stepping down as the chief executive of the country. His administration focused on the fight against illegal drugs and corruption in the government. He also pushed for the “Build Build Build” project.

Under the current administration, several individuals were put behind the bars due to their alleged drug involvement. Many former government officials were also terminated or were asked to resign due to the allegations of corruption they are involved in.

The 77-year-old President is vocal about his excitement to be the outgoing president. He previously confirmed that some of his things were already packed and he is really ready to step down.

Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants the next administration to continue the fight against illegal drugs. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he also warned the next president to start charter change or a constitution reform early.

According to the President, once cha-cha is proposed in the later part of the term, there will be assumptions that the national leader once to stay for another term in the position like what he allegedly experience. He turned down the allegations that he wants another term.

Pres. Duterte also suggests the abolition of the party-list system. He claimed that some party lists enter the government and participate the process because they want to destroy the government.

The President previously expressed that he plans to go home to Davao City after his term ends. He also expressed determination to face the charges that will be filed against him because of his war against illegal drugs.
