Ria Atayde to start living independently

Actress Ria Atayde is thankful that her actress-mom Sylvia Sanchez has given her the green light to live independently.

“[Maybe] now the most distinct way of how I feel my mom’s love is the way she’s helping me in terms of moving out,” Atayde said when asked how she feels her mother’s love for her, during the online press conference for the finale episode of “Viral Scandal,” May 3.

“Next week I’m gonna be living on my own already. For the first time, I’m going to be independent already,” she said, noting that her mom took five years to let her move out of their house.

Now that she is preparing to leave the house, her mom even helps her in choosing what appliances to buy and is the one taking care of some things that are needed to make her moving out hassle-free.

“That’s how I know that she loves me right now… It’s not something she wants but it’s what I said I need. And then she’s respecting it and embracing it and celebrating it even,” she said.

Atayde plays Atty. Laura Dizon in the series, where she represents Charlie Dizon’s character Rica Sicat after she got embroiled in a sex scandal which has become viral. Atayde describes her journey in the series as a “rollercoaster [ride] from start to finish.”

“It was a lot of fun. We made a lot or memories, cheesy as that sounds and I feel it was a learning experience for me both as a person and as an actress,” she said.

“Viral Scandal” which also stars Joshua Garcia, Jameson Blake, Dimples Romana, Maxene Magalona, Kaila Estrada, Markus Patterson and Jake Cuenca, will air its finale episode tomorrow, Friday, May 13. JB
