Angat Mayor Leonardo de Leon said their town hall began its seven-day lockdown Wednesday for disinfection of offices. He did not say how many employees had tested positive for COVID-19.

De Leon said he would ask the municipal board to issue a resolution to extend the Jan. 20 deadline for business taxes and permits.

The Bocaue town hall and its annex building were closed for disinfection from Jan. 12 to 17, according to Mayor Jonjon Santiago. He advised residents to turn to online processing of permits during this period.

Mayor Eladio Gonzales Jr. of Balagtas said the town hall was closed from Jan. 13 to 19 to prevent the spread of the virus.

Gonzales said COVID-19 had infected employees in various offices, such as municipal health, disaster, treasury, agriculture, accounting, civil registry, and traffic management.

The San Rafael municipal hall was also closed from Jan. 13 to 14.

As of Thursday, the number of Bulacan’s active cases has risen to 8,117. INQ
