Robredo wants experts, good managers in her Cabinet if she wins presidency

MANILA, Philippines — Should Vice President Leni Robredo win as president in the 2022 polls, she wants experts and good managers as members of her Cabinet.
Robredo on Wednesday noted that choosing Cabinet members is very important.

“Pero para kasi sa ‘kin, napakahalaga ng pagpili ng Cabinet members. Napakahalaga ng pagpili ng heads of offices,” she said on ONE News’ Agenda.

Robredo said that her Cabinet members must be experts in their fields, respected, and great managers.
“Number one, kailangan experts in their field. Number two, kailangan respetado sila, respetado sila ng sektor na pamumunuan nila. Number three, hindi lang mahusay sa kanilang field pero mahusay na managers,” she said.
(Number one, they must be experts in their fields. Number two, they must be respected, respected by the sector that they will lead. Number three, not only should they be great in their field, but also great managers.)
The presidential aspirant likewise would pick Cabinet members who believe in empowerment and inclusivity.
“And then number four—ako, ‘yung driving force sa ‘kin ng governance is always empowerment and inclusivity. So, para sa ‘kin dapat ‘yung pipiliin ko naniniwala din du’n na nakikinig, nagbibigay boses sa stakeholders kasi tingin ko napakahalaga nito,” said Robredo.
(And then number four—my driving force in governance is always empowerment and inclusivity. So, for me, I should choose someone who also believes in that, who listens and gives voice to stakeholders because I think this is very important.)
She also said Cabinet members should be harmonized.

“And number five, dapat ‘yung presidente ng VP (vice president) mo, ‘yung presidente nagtitimon na ‘yung kanyang Cabinet members ay nag-a-agree to work together kasi mahirap ‘yung nag-aaway,” she said.
(Number five, your VP’s president, the president should have Cabinet members who agree to work together because it is difficult if there would be fighting.)
Robredo did not provide names of her preferred Cabinet members in case she wins the post.
“I will not name names ngayon kung mayroon nang napupusuan (now if there are target members) but there’s a group of many different teams who have been helping us since 2016,” she said.
