PVL update: Perlas takes a leave of absence

The Perlas Spikers have taken a leave of absence in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2022 season due to the pandemic.

The team announced this on social media late Wednesday, becoming the second team to make the decision.

The Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors also cited the ongoing pandemic situation for their leave of absence.

“We wish the tournament well and we continue to support the growth of Philippine volleyball,” the post read.

Some players have already signed with other teams prior to their announcement.

Dzi Gervacio had joined the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Jem Ferrer and Cherry Nunag transferred to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Gel Cayuna was taken by Cignal, and recently, Nicole Tiamzon joined Petro Gazz.

Some notable players from the Perlas Spikers are Michelle Morente, Jem Ferrer, Jho Maraguinot and Sue Roces.
