‘Eat Bulaga’ to continue airing on GMA

The country’s longest-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga” officially renewed their contract with GMA-7 on Tuesday.

The show’s main hosts, Joey de Leon and brothers Tito and Vic Sotto, could only be happy with the decision.

“Ang tagal na namin dito and we have enjoyed a fruitful partnership so, we are only too happy to continue with them,” said Vic.

Note the show has been airing for 27 years on GMA-7.

What keeps them going?

“Well, simple lang talaga ang magpasaya sa tao,” said Tito. “Kasi kung masaya sila, masaya rin kami. That’s what keep us going.”

GMA Network CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon said, “We, in GMA, are honored to be chosen once again by TAPE to be the home TV station of ‘Eat Bulaga.’”

“Many have tried to beat ‘Eat Bulaga,’ the longest running number one TV program in the Philippines…being the number one noontime TV program, it is only logical that ‘Eat Bulaga’ is shown on GMA-7, the number one TV station in the Philippines.”

“And so we are looking forward to many more years of mutually beneficial and rewarding partnership with TAPE in airing ‘Eat Bulaga’ on GMA-7,” he added.

Meanwhile, President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto Duavit Jr. said, “It is a great privilege and a great honor and a source of great happiness for all of us na tayo’y magkakasama at patuloy pa rin na magsasama sama.”

“Kaming lahat ay taga-hanga ninyo and it is always a distinct pleasure to have a partnership that has lasted for so long and that continues to even strengthen, deepen, and prove to be even stronger,” he added.

Meanwhile, GMA Chairman Annette Gozon-Valdez said, “Kung may forever mukhang ito na ito. Thank you ‘Eat Bulaga’ for the trust.”

TAPE Inc. President and CEO Mr. Antonio “Tony” Tuviera  is thankful to have GMA-7 as partner.

“You gave us a reason to continue our vision on television,” he said.
